Photographic
Society of Taipei
The
Photographic Society of Taipei was established in 1956 with the purpose of
"promoting the art of photography, upgrading the level of photograph, purifying
the body and mind, and expressing truth, goodness and beauty." Over the
years, through Photo Taipei Magazine, photography workshops and lectures,
photography tours, photography contests, and exhibitions, etc., we have
cultivated countless art elites and photography talents. The Society’s
international photography related activities are as follows:
FIAP World Cup for Clubs: The contest
was started and organized by FIAP in 2006. Total awards are 10 for Clubs. This
is one of the most representative Clubs contests around the world. In 2019 our
club was awarded No. 1. Among Asian countries we are the first club winning the
first place. In 2018 our club first participated in the contest and won the
third place. In 2020 we won No. 8. In 2021 we won No. 5 again. In consecutive four
years The Photographic Society of Taipei was awarded in this contest.
Organizing Taipei International Salon for 47 years:
Taipei
International Salon, started in 1977, and the 47th edition was held this year.
From 2020, the Salon was extended to Taiwan Photo Circuit. The Photographic
Society of Taipei was awarded the FIAP Gold Plaquette for continuously
organizing Taipei International Salon under FIAP Patronage for more than 20
years.
Participating in international salons held
around the world: The Society encourages and organizes
members to participate in international salons held all over the world. The
results are very good, and the Society has won the Best Club Award many times,
as well as numerous individual awards. It also helped expanding everyone's
vision of photography and understanding the relevant definitions and
regulations of International Salon.
Applying for the International Distinctions: On behalf
of its members the Society applies for the FIAP Distinctions every year. We are
the largest ILFIAP Members which was honored with the distinctions in a year.
